Such is the military life. Constantly in transition. Either someone you love is leaving or you are backing up to go. In the military, you make a new friend and almost always have to say good-bye at some point. It’s bittersweet really. There’s a constant flow of wonderful people in your life. And as time goes on, you end up having people you love all around the globe.Read More

It’s that time of year again. A solstice is around the corner and I’m reflecting on the season that’s coming to a close. While I pride myself on being a “winter person” I’m not sure I’m a Germany Winter person! The winters here aren’t as magical as they are in upstate NY. In fact, they are kind of depressing and just gross enough that you can’t do anything fun! In upstate NY there might be 4 feet of snow on the ground, but the roads were clear, the sun was out, and there was sledding to be done and Target trips to be made! In Germany the winters are dreary and too cold to be outside but with no snow. Depressed yet? Well lucky for us it is almost Spring!Read More
Hi friends! I thought I’d start a new blog series where I round-up some things I’m currently loving. I haven’t decided if it’ll be a weekly or monthly or even a regularly thing. It might be scheduled - it might be when the mood strikes! But if there is one thing I like to do, it’s give advice… and thrust my opinions on others! I think it’s the big sister in me that thinks I know everything, or at least the best things!Read More
Somehow it happened. My baby turned three! It’s a strange thing to experience - time moving slow and fast at the same time. It’s a mystery how the days go by in a blur and yet somehow never seem to end. But here we are three years after she came screaming into this world a week early. It’s incredible to watch her learn and love. She’s brave and curious and truly her own person. She loves dogs and cats and horses and princesses. She changes her outfit at least three times a day. Refuses help on almost every task - except zipping up her coat. She LOVES her brother. She’s my every thing. She is the future of women and we are very lucky to have her!Read More
This fall has been my craziest yet! The first few months of this little business has been super busy and crazy rewarding! Thank you to my family for supporting my dreams and my weekend workdays. Thank you to my friends for telling everyone they know about my work. And thank you to the families who trusted me with their time and their memories.Read More
One of my favorite bloggers, Kate from The Small Things Blog, posted an entry about things she has learned this past summer. I thought I'd reflect on the same thing here in my own journal.
The summer is coming to a close. August is just about over. It is finally not scorching hot across Europe (in fact it's started snowing in the mountains down south!). And school is starting back up. Henry starts kindergarten the Tuesday after Labor Day and he is so excited! I love that he loves school!Read More
